The Gospel Series includes the following 6 books.

Gospel Worship - Through 14 sermons, Burroughs carefully explains the right manner of worshipping God in the three great ordinances of hearing the Word, receiving the Lord’s Supper, and prayer. Burroughs shows that true worship is reverent, focused upon our holy God.

Gospel Revelation - In this treatise, Jeremiah Burroughs explains the nature and excellence of God’s revelation regarding Himself and His Son, Jesus Christ. And then he gives precious insight into the worth of the human soul, created by God to joyously serve and glorify Him. Sin debases a man, but a right relationship to God elevates him to the position of worth and dignity God gave him at first. True Christians can rejoice in this revelation.

Gospel Conversation - Burroughs judged the power of godliness to consist not in lofty speculation regarding theological minutia, but rather in a holy conversation, a holy conduct. He shows that to live a holy life, a Christian must first be acquainted with the root from which all holiness must spring. Unless we do all for and from Christ, our lusts will not be mortified, our duties will not be accepted, and our consciences will not be purified. We will not be strengthened against affliction; neither will we persevere. We must not be brought to glory in ourselves, but in Jesus Christ.

Gospel Fear - In Scripture, fear is usually a synonym for “awe” or “reverence.” If we consider Psalm 138:2, which calls us to revere the name of God, how great our obligation must be to revere the word of God! In this highly respected work, Jeremiah Burroughs addresses the importance of having a reverence for God’s word. We are told in Scripture that God will look to the one who trembles at His word (Isa. 66:2). May God infuse His church with such an awe and reverence for that word.

Gospel Remission - In this treatise gospel grace is stated rightly; the justice of God is cleared; the mercy of God is exalted; poor, trembling sinners are encouraged to come to the blood of Christ for pardon; and presumptuous sinners, facing an eternity in hell, are awakened out of their deadly deluding dreams of heaven. In Christ, sin is condemned and punished, and the believing sinner is justified, pardoned, and acquitted. If you prize peace with God, pick up this book and pray for light to direct you into a distinct knowledge of this gospel truth.

Gospel Reconciliation - In this rare treatise, beloved Puritan pastor Jeremiah Burroughs shows that there is a breach between man and God and that there is a way provided to repair that breach. He states that reconciliation with God comes only through the work of Christ, as an infinite God must have infinite satisfaction for sin, which only God Himself can provide through His own Son. Nothing less than the righteousness of God Himself will ever satisfy the justice of God. The person and work of Christ are the sinner’s only hope.
